I always find it hard to stay on task and keep up with things I have started. One post six years ago, but I am back!
Since my book post in 2019, I have read many many many more books and deleted my Goodreads account (silent/active protest and all). I am on StoryGraph and will update my book list soon.
I am unsure of why I chose the “Lindsey Grice Designs” title but let’s go with it and this is where I am today with it:
What is Lindsey Grice Designs?
I think of “designs” as a multi-faceted word. Not only do I love physical designs: in art, in fabric, in nature, and bringing that altogether.

I also think about how I want to design my life. I want to live a happy and fulfilling life despite what is going on around me. Not blissfully unaware, but aware and choosing the small things that keep me uplifted and enjoying the many things on earth that bring me joy. Feeling stressed about the actions of our country, but seeking out the beauty of nature by sitting at the beach less than a mile down the road, with my toes in the sand and listening to something like Vivaldi. Having my toes in the sand and water, but reading a great book and taking pauses to watch the waves ripple or the sun beginning to set among the trees and the shoreline. Working really hard to complete my Masters Degree but taking a day trip to Grand Rapids to walk around the Japanese Garden at Meijer Gardens or up to Mackinac Island.
If I were to design a life for me, it would include an abundance of creativity, books galore (with time to read), traveling the world and experiencing all that I can. I would do all of this while living a slow life, so that I can unhurriedly and creatively capture everything around me.
Every time I sit down to think about the places I would love to visit, I quickly go from one place to wanting to go everywhere. Ask me where I want to go and it will start out with one place and continue on to all the surrounding areas and everywhere else. At this moment high on my bucket list is Sweden because my mom has been talking about going. I would also love to explore the south of France some more. I went on a twenty four day cruise in 2022 and was able to spend a few hours in a lot of places that I would love to explore more and at a slower pace. Aix-en-Provence was incredible. Nearby, is Èze, which I would like to explore a little more because it was rainy and I was a little motion sick from the bus ride, so I only ate lunch and explored the one or two shops at the base instead of going up into the town.

I was reviewing all my saved TikTok posts and downloading them before the temporary ban and I had an overwhelmingly number of videos and photos saved for Japan. So that is also high on my bucket list. I will share some more spots that I would love to see for the first time and some spots that I would love to visit again. Throughout my childhood, we vacationed many places. My dad did not want to fly, so we only traveled to places we could drive in the amount of time we had available, like a week or a little more. We mostly camped and had some pretty great adventures. Because of that, I was able to visit thirty-nine states, many provinces in Canada, and we walked across the border to Mexico!
When you travel, what is your purpose? I find myself drawn to the history of places, the architecture and any nature surrounding the space. We started the cruise in Barcelona, Spain and I really couldn’t get enough in the short time we were there.

I loved the architecture and green spaces that the city had to offer. I will share more of my trips later. But be kind, I only brought my iPhone and am not the greatest photographer. I am really sad that I didn’t bring my big Canon DSLR but if I am honest, the photos would probably not be much better.
I think that before my next trip, I would like to get a Fujifilm xt30 ii or an x100vi. Both are hard to find but I am doing some research and need to learn a lot about taking good photos. Give me your recs! I don’t really want to go with a big DSLR because I have that. I just love the look of the photos I have seen on the xt30 ii.
Love this!! I needed this reminder to slow down and take life in haha
